Out there it could be called free software. Versão do Brasil (formato Original): Eu acho que traria muito mais benefícios se o AEF fosse em GPL, já que isso poderia trazer muito mais conforto aos seus usuários sem o risco de um dia o software virar pago. It doesn't protect the original work nearly enough and makes viable too easily forks and derivatives, which are dangerous to the original product. Already the GPL is all or nothing, if you read or study now means copy the code and using it in the program, will have to license it under the GPL. The beauty of this is that as the software is improved, still remain free. Sure, there are some advantages as the use of BSD, but let's be realistic, a free software without copyleft (BSD) can lead to derivatives that the owners stead. So, why is my preference is the GPL, as well as protect the work of the owner brings comfort to the end user, since it ensures sure you do not need to pay for the copy of the product. Versão do Brasil (formato Original): Eu acho melhor a GPL, pois comparado com a BSD, pode-se ter a certeza de que ninguém vai pegar o código desenvolvido e usar ele num programa fechado. Já a GPL é tudo ou nada, se ler ou estudar o código já significa copiar e se utilizar isso no programa, terá que licenciá-lo sobre a GPL. O bom disso é que à medida que o software é aprimorado, continua permanecendo livre. Claro, existem algumas vantagens quanto a utilização da BSD, mas vamos ser realistas, um software livre sem copyleft (BSD) pode dar origem a derivados proprietários que o substituam. Assim, sendo por isso que a minha preferência é a GPL, pois além de proteger a obra do proprietário traz o conforto ao usuário final, já que lhe garante a certeza de que não precisará pagar pela cópia do produto. -----------------------

Group: Member Post Group: Elite Member Posts: 436 Status: No longer on the AEF Team	to expand on what pulkit just said, we have discussed at great lengths the ways that AEF will be willing to go in order to gain revenue... I can tell you from my discussions with pulkit that he feels strongly about AEF being a free package. We dont need a standard to prove that. We have the integrity to hold it true. I know that there is this fear because AEF is new that some day when we get bigger that we will take away the availability of our software in order to make some cash... Based on what I have discussed with pulkit, I think that goes against his ideal on what this organization represents. ----------------------- As a team we will make AEF what we dream of it being.
